Awaited the bar results in Seoul, a place I never expected to be in while praying to see my name on the list. Now, this city will have an even more special core memory embedded in me— this is where my #GetThatBar2022 happened!
Just a short story about the first photo. Yesterday, April 13, 2023, I went to Kamong Cafe, a cafe owned by the siblings of Kai of EXO. I was getting anxious because of the upcoming bar exam results so I decided to stay there and talk to my parents over the phone for quite some time. When it was getting dark, I decided to leave and head to the Seocho subway station. I had to answer the call of nature so I went to the comfort room first. When I’m done, I hurriedly went out to catch the next train but that exit sign caught my attention. I thought to myself, is it giving me a sign to just keep the faith ‘cause our prayers will soon be answered? I sent this to my parents immediately then I realized that my seat number during the four-day bar exam was number 5. There’s no harm in trying to be hopeful, I thought.
Fast forward to today, April 14, 2023, my name made it to the list! It still does not feel real. Talaga ba, abogado na ako? Parang kaka-graduate ko lang mula sa napakahabang journey ko sa law school tapos nakapag-bar agad ako tapos ngayon eto na, may resulta na. Lord, You truly are amazing!
I wouldn’t have made this without the help of the people who had been supporting and praying for me since day 1. My mama and papa, most especially, who were there with me 24/7 since November started— taga-print ng mga biglaang LMT na marereceive on the night before exam day, taga-bayad ng mga food deliveries, tagahatid every morning sa San Beda kahit coding si Beshy every Wednesday at tagasundo after every exam day, my forever prayer warriors since I told them I want to go to law school many many years ago, my forever supporter and cheerleaders sa lahat ng gusto ko kahit concert pa yan o trip to Korea habang nasa kalagitnaan ng sem pa ako— I love you so much! Ito na yung katuparan ng mga pangarap natin mula simula, ma, pa.
Friends and family members who waited for the results even though di nila sure kung nagtake ako, classmates from elementary, high school, college, law school (who are now pañeros and pañeras!), friends I met through EXO, my law school barkada aka team salubong nung last day— thank you very much for your prayers and well-wishes! Please continue praying for me to always be humble and to always be reminded to use this profession only for the good and just.
St. Jude, Mama Mary, salamat po sa hindi pagpapabaya sa akin mula nang nagsimula ako sa law school. All my prayers are answered through your most powerful intercession! Thank you for always guiding me and my family, and for helping us finally achieve this life-long dream of getting the title “Atty.”
And to the Almighty Lord, all Glory and Honor is Yours. This success is all for You. You are the reason why I am here. This is all Your will.
